Upcoming Events...

The calendar of events for this month has changed. Due to a conflict with field usage the All-Town Photo planned for April 6th has been cancelled. It is to be rescheduled in the fall, probably in early September. Our apologies to all who had planned on being there this Saturday.

Two other events planned for this month are still scheduled and the 300th Committee is excited about bringing them to you. "Clean Sweep," Medway’s first annual clean-up day, will kick off at 8AM on Saturday, April 27th. This is an opportunity for everyone to celebrate Earth Day and keep Medway beautiful. Volunteers from school organizations, scouts, citizens, and a number of other town civic organizations have already volunteered. If you have not signed up but want to participate, please email ta@townofmedway.org or call 508-533-3264. The Clean Sweep will be followed by a free barbecue at the Middle School at 11:30, hosted by the Medway Lions. Then, if you have time, the Middle School will be open to the public that day to show off the renovations.

Later that day, rock out to oldies music at the Medway VFW. Remember the good old days and meet up with friends from the past as the 300th Committee hosts an Oldies Dance, featuring music from the 50s through today. It will run from 7:30 to midnight and the cost is $15/person or $25/couple. Tickets are available at Town Hall, TC Scoops, Shaw’s Market, and the VFW. Hot and cold hors d’oeuvres will be served and there will be raffles and contests.

The Arts Festival is gearing up for a wonderful weekend of artwork, photographs, crafts, and performances on May 11th and 12th at the high school. There is still time to enter your original artwork or photographs in the Art and Photography exhibition. Click for the information and entry forms.

And Family Day takes place on June 22, with a rain date of the 23rdat Choate Park/Cassidy Field. The committee is planning many fun events for all ages, such as musical performances, carnival games, vintage cars, scavenger hunts, geo-caching, square dancing, and a bike parade. Plus, some of Medway’s biggest personalities will be taking their chances in the Dunk Tank. Try your best to unseat them! And the Historical Society will be conducting guided tours of historic Medway using trolleys from Boston. And the fireworks start after 8. Don’t miss a minute!
